ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneswar celebrates 73rd Independence Day

ICAR-Indian institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar celebrated India's 73rd Independence Day on 15th August 2019 in its premises. Director and staff of the institute joined the celebration. Director, Dr. S.K. Ambast hoisted the national flag which was followed by recital of national anthem. In his address to the staff of the institute, Director remembered the contribution of freedom fighters and visionary leaders in nation making and nation building process. He reminded the staff of the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister on water conservation and Jalshakti Mission and urged them to make collective efforts towards realizing the goals. He emphasized the need for reorienting the research strategy to find sustainable solutions to the contemporary water related problems faced by agriculture sector and also to provide strong scientific basis for better understanding of emerging problems. He expressed satisfaction at ICAR-IIWM bagging several recognitions in 2018-19 and complimented scientists and staff for their endeavour. In the beginning, Director and staff offered floral tributes to the father of the nation and remembered his contribution for independence of the country.
