In order to study the performance of precise irrigation under conservation agriculture in intensive rice-based cropping system, a field experiment was conducted at Deras farm of IIWM and the result showed that highest grain yield of maize under conventional tillage with precise irrigation (PI), which was found statistically at par with zero tillage (ZT) with precise irrigation. The highest water productivity (16.06 kg/ha-mm) of maize was observed under zero tillage with precise irrigation. The highest green gram seed yield (1143 kg/ha) was obtained under ZT with PI. Similarly, the water productivity of green gram was found highest (3.26 kg/ha-mm) under ZT with PI. The highest water productivity (6.89 kg/ha-mm) of rice was obtained in zero tillage direct seeded rice (ZTDSR) with PI. The rice grain yield in DSR was 7% lower than puddled transplanted rice (PTR). However, the water productivity of DSR was 26% higher than the precise irrigation.
