The study analyzed temperature and rainfall trends in Balangir and Kalahandi districts using statistical methods. Findings indicate significant warming, with rising minimum and maximum temperatures, particularly in September and December. Balangir showed a significant temperature increase, while Kalahandi exhibited similar trends with notable annual warming. The rainfall trends revealed decline on trend during key monsoon months and annually, indicating a long-term drying trend. Balangir and Kalahandi experienced decreasing rainfall in June, July, and November, affecting water availability. These insights highlight the need for adaptive climate strategies to mitigate temperature rise and declining rainfall in the Mahanadi River basin.
