The Director and staff members of ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management have actively participated in cleanliness campaign organized at Institute staff residential quarters located at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of celebration of "Sarvatra Swachhta Diwas" on 24th September 2017 (10 AM - 12 Noon). They have fully removed the weeds and non biodegradable articles such as plastic and polythene from both the sides of the interconnecting road at Staff quarters. The staff members have also participated in removal of night soil and slit deposited in the drainage line causing severe obstruction to the sewage/toilet water flow. The public was also made aware about the need for creating proper toilet facility in the disadvantageous areas. The removed silt/soil and weeds were carried away through trolley. Kerosene was sprayed in the sewage/drainage line to facilitate vector / mosquito control and to prevent the deadly diseases like Dengue, Malaria.
