An awareness-cum-demonstration program on Khet Bachao Abhiyan (KBA) was successfully organized on 23rd June 2026 at Lokapal, under Kanas Block of Puri district, Odisha, under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan (KBA) programme. The programme was organised by Dr. Ranabir Chakraborty, and Sri Radheshyam Biswal, progressive farmer also attended the program. A total of 29 farmers, including 24 women farmers, actively participated in the programme. The resource persons interacted with farmers on issues related to declining soil fertility, rising cultivation costs, and imbalanced fertilizer use. Farmers were advised on balanced fertigation, crop residue incorporation, and efficient fertilizer application methods for improving soil health and crop productivity. Discussions also covered fisheries management aspects, including pond water quality, nutrient management, and scientific feeding practices for improving fish productivity and sustainability. Practical demonstrations were conducted on the use of Rhizobium, Azotobacter, PSB, KSB, vermicompost, FYM, nano-urea, nano DAP, and green manuring with Sesbania (Dhaincha).
