A field experiment at ICAR-IIWM, Deras (2023-24) studied soil moisture regimes in finger and little millet under different crop establishment methods and varieties. Transplanting improved yield, water productivity, and net returns over direct seeding. Irrigation at 50% SMD optimized yield and productivity, while 60% SMD reduced both significantly.
